Providing for individual and family well-being
The need for mental health services can vary from person to person. Some individuals seek help processing the stress in their life from work or family. Others seek help dealing with chronic depression, anxiety, substance abuse, or personality disorders. Residents of Los Alamos face these challenges every day.
With support from donors like you we have been able to help hundreds of members of our community through the work at the counseling center. We have served teachers, scientists, medical staff, and individuals from every major employer in town. We have served couples and families as well.
Our goal is to provide affordable mental health services to anyone in our community. For some, that means just having appointments available when they're needed. For others, that includes the need to help them find insurance, covering portions of co-payments, or even providing services at no charge. Every case is different - and many need your help.
Our youth activity centers extend our help and care to families by providing free after-school and summer programming to youth in grades 3rd through 8th who live in or attend school in Los Alamos. These centers provide a safe place for students to do homework, play games with friends, and connect with caring staff.
